What is the easiest way to go about seeing your credit report without having to pay someone to do it?

robert o wants to know:
II’m thinking about filing for bankruptcy and am wanting to get a copy of my credit report before I actually decide to do so. I was wondering if there is a way to get a copy of my credit report without having to pay somebody to do it. Equifax wants a monthly fee and I just want one copy. Nothing more. I would be greatly thankful for any help that you could lend me. I’m trying to make life easier for my family.

Not sure if it is by law but you are entitled to a free credit report every year…google “free credit report”.
Just call. Equifax, TransUnion, or umm.. the third one. …? Anyone, you’re entitled to two per year. Follow the prompts for a request and they’ll send you one in the mail.
Go to:
This is the site sponsored by the 3 main bureaus. From there, you can get each of your credit reports from the 3 bureaus once per year for free.
Good luck.
you can get it for free. If you have been turned down for credit or job position, you can request a free copy. I like privacyguard.com because it has a 90 day free look. To get all 3 credit reports, it is something like $14 (by 3, get 2 of them free). Sign up, look at it, print it, and unsubscribe.
I’ve had good info about it here:
Best regards.
