My experian credit score?
|
At least IM honest wants to know:
I subscribe to two different credit monitoring services.
I subscribe to two different credit monitoring services.
1) first premier credit expert which uses the “plus” score scoring model.
2) 3 in 1 credit monitoring through true credit.com which I believe uses the “vantage” scoring model.
Between the two there is a difference of 60 points as far as experian is concerned. The vantage is the higher of the two.
Are the scores different because different models are used?
Which one is right?

the only true answer you would get is from experian itself which at the moment are giving a free 30 day trial.
There are 2 different systems FICO which scores from 300 to 850 and Vantage which scores from 501 to 990.
The plus system and the Vantage system are the same.
Vantage breaks down as follows;
A-901-990
B-801-900
C-701-800
D-601-700
F-501-600
FICO does not have a real breakdown but this is how the largest credit union in Oklahoma sees it
Elite 740 & up
Prime 700-739
Preferred 660-669
Standard 625-659
Sub-prime 624 & down
The only one that really matters is FICO because this is the one that all major lenders use.
The 60-point difference your seeing is due to the different ways credit monitoring services have of calculating scores. The only way to get your true scores are from the credit bureaus.
To get your true score you have to either apply for credit or pay for it. uses the same scoring system as the lenders use.
There is often a large discrepency between the inexpensive-free credit reports and the ones myfico uses and the lender uses.
