My credit score is 549, because of personal loans and some other small bills I didn’t pay when I was 19. Now that I’m older and what to be a home owner what do I do to fix it? Its almost been 7 years but I was told that the 7 year rule no longer applies.

The seven year rule does apply just not in some things. The way that credit repair agencies do this for you is to challenge the things that are on your report. You file a personal challenge by mail and you keep track of the time. The credit agencies have 30 days to respond to your challenges if you pay for the report that you are challenging items on and they have 45 days to answer challenges to free reports. When they don’t respond in the time that they are supposed to then you write them and inform them that they failed to live up to the FCRA and tell them to remove the item. I have not tried this to see if it works though.
The seven year rule dose still apply. (seven years from your charge off date)
