with lab, usually means that the class has a lab component to it.
where i went to college that meant you signed up for say Bio and had lecture at a certain time with a HUGE class 2 days of the week, but then had lab class with a small group of like 15-20 people from the huge lecture class 1 day of the week where you’d do experiments and such.
Science courses often have a lab option to it. These are usually 1-credit courses that you register for separately. The requirement just means you need to take that lab in addition to the lecture class. There are also some lower level science courses that may not have a lab offered and so these wouldn’t be appropriate to take if you want to use it to fulfill the requirement.
